Fire Chief

Chief Dale McCaskill began his career in the fire service in 1986 as a Volunteer Firefighter with the Midlothian Fire Department. During the time he served the community as a volunteer he became a certified Firefighter and Paramedic. After achieving his certification, Chief McCaskill’s professional career began with the Rowlett Fire Department in 1989 where he promoted through the ranks to the position of Captain. Chief McCaskill returned to the City of Midlothian on January 1, 2007 as the Deputy Chief over training. Eight years later, on January 1, 2015, Chief McCaskill was named Fire Chief of the Midlothian Fire Department.

Chief McCaskill holds an Associate Degree in Fire Science Technology from Pikes Peak Community College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Northwood University. In the fall of 2011, Chief McCaskill graduated from the accredited Executive Fire Officer Program at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland. The curriculum of this four year program required extensive research of current challenges facing the Fire Service and the development of innovative solutions to the ever changing needs. He holds Master Firefighter and Head of the Department certifications under the Texas Commission on Fire Protection.

Chief McCaskill is proud to serve the community that he has called home since 1972. He is a member of the Lions Club and serves on several committees with the Midlothian Independent School District. His greatest reward is giving back to the community that has given him so much over the years.
