Fire Code Plan Reviews
All fire alarm, fire sprinkler and fire suppression system plans shall be submitted to the Fire Marshal’s Office for review and permit. This includes commercial cooking hoods and hood extinguishing systems. The Fire Marshal's Office currently has no fee schedule for plan review, installation or permit. Current Fire Code: 2015 IFC with NCTCOG and Local Amendments.
The following shall be reviewed by an approved third-party firm prior to submittal to the Fire Marshal’s Office:
- All new installations of fire alarm, fire sprinkler or alternative protection systems in buildings or tenant spaces 5,000 square feet or larger, or with an Occupant Load of 100 or more.
- Addition or relocation of fifteen (15) or more alarm devices.
- Addition or relocation of twenty (20) or more sprinkler heads.
- Any system the Fire Marshal requires to be reviewed by a third-party.

The Fire Marshal’s Office shall be included in any communications regarding questions or discrepancies during the plan review process. All plans and plan reviews completed by the third party reviewer shall be submitted to the Fire Marshal’s Office for final approval. The submitting contractor shall make payment of plan review fees to the third-party review firm.
