Energy Conservation

Overview

Energy conservation is a reduction in the amount of energy used. A reduction in the energy consumed will lower costs and help the environment. As the demand for energy drops; hopefully the focus will shift from non-renewable sources (oil, gas, etc.) to renewable sources (wind, solar, hydro, etc.). Renewable sources are much better for the environment, never ending, and less costly. Many people have already began the migration to renewable sources. Solar panels are becoming more common in residential as well as commercial buildings. The demand for fuel efficient vehicles has sparked an increase in Hybrid vehicle sales and more interest in the research and development of electric cars.

Remember, every light switched off, every appliance unplugged, and every mile walked instead of driven brings you one step closer to energy conservation.
