Request for Public Information

The City Secretary is the public information officer for the City of Midlothian. The City Secretary’s office is responsible for coordinating with all City Departments and ensuring that all open records requests are processed in a timely manner in accordance with the Texas Public Information Act and city procedures.  Please note that all requests for public information must be submitted to the City Secretary's office (citysecretary@midlothian.tx.us). Requests sent to other departments will not be forwarded.

The PDF Request Form may be printed, completed then submitted via fax to (972) 775-7122 or mail to Attn: City Secretary, City of Midlothian, 104 W. Avenue E, Midlothian, TX 76065 or email to citysecretary@midlothian.tx.us.

The City Secretary has ten (10) working days to respond to requests.  Generally, records in response to the requests are sent by email.  Please make sure to check your spam folder if you have not received a response.

Police Records
information related to arrests, accidents, case files, dash or body worn camera footage, and offense/incident reports is available from the Police Records Department.

Public Records Available Online
Monthly Building Reports - A record of all permits issue each month including Certificates of Occupancy.

Property parcel information is available from the Ellis County Appraisal District.
