Boards & Commissions List

Boards & Commissions that meet on a monthly basis:

Joint Midlothian/ Waxahachie Airport Board:  Advisory to both Midlothian and Waxahachie Councils and oversees airport operations

Midlothian Community Development Corporation: Focuses on the administration of sales tax to fund the maintenance and operating costs of projects that positively impact the quality of life for citizens.

Midlothian Development Authority: Promotes, develops, encourages and maintains employment, commerce, economic development and public facility development

Midlothian Economic Development: Attracts new businesses and retains existing businesses and industry

Park Board: Improves and manages city parks

Planning & Zoning Commission:  Considers all planning issues and advises on ordinance amendments and zoning issues

Boards & Commissions that meet on an as needed basis:

Capital Improvement Advisory Committee:  Reviews and prioritizes community needs for capital facilities

Historic Advisory Board: Considers all issues involving historic preservation in the city

School & City Library Board: Establishes library policies and hours

Utility Advisory Board: Makes recommendations to City Council regarding the city’s water and sewer operations

Zoning Board of Adjustments:  A quasi-judicial body that determines variances to the zoning ordinances
