Bond Election Propositions:

  • Proposition A - The issuance of $46,000,000 tax bonds by the City of Midlothian for constructing and equipping a public safety and police headquarters building and levying a tax sufficient to make the payments of principal and interest thereon.
  • Proposition B - The issuance of $25,000,000 tax bonds by the City of Midlothian for constructing and equipping a municipal civic building to contain city hall and a public library and levying a tax sufficient to make the payments of principal and interest thereon.
  • Proposition C - The issuance of $19,000,000 tax bonds by the City of Midlothian for constructing and equipping a public recreation center and levying a tax sufficient to make the payments of principal and interest thereon.
  • Proposition D - The issuance of $35,575,000 tax bonds by the City of Midlothian for city street and road improvements and levying a tax sufficient to make the payments of principal and interest thereon.

2021 Election Schedule - Important Dates:

  • December 14, 2020 - Deadline to post notice of candidate filing deadline
  • January 1, 2021 – First day to apply for a ballot by mail
  • January 13, 2021 – First day to file for a place on the General Election ballot
  • February 12, 2021 – Last day to file for a place on the General Election ballot and Last day to Order General Election or Election on a Measure
  • February 19, 2021 - Last day for candidate to withdraw application
  • February 18-22, 2021 - Conduct drawing for order of names on ballot
  • April 1, 2021 – Last Day to register to vote and due date for filing first campaign finance report
  • April 20, 2021 - Last Day to Apply for Ballot by Mail (Received, not postmarked)
  • April 19-23, 2021 - Early Voting - 8AM-5PM at Vote Center Locations
  • April 24, 2021 - Early Voting - 8AM-4PM at Vote Center Locations
  • April 26 & 27, 2021 - Early Voting - 7AM-7PM at Vote Center Locations
  • April 23, 2021 - Due date for filing second campaign finance report
  • May 1, 2021 – Election Day at Vote Center Locations and Last Day to Receive Ballot by Mail
  • May 11, 2021 - Official canvass of the election
