New City Hall & Public Library Project Moves Forward

The new, voter-approved City Hall & Public Library got one step closer to becoming a reality with the demolition of the downtown city block that will be its future home.  Construction will begin in early 2023 with completion expected to take 16 months. More information about the plans for the new City Hall & Public Library can be found here. Fall Concert Series Starts Sept. 24

The Midlothian Parks & Recreation Department announces the start of Autumn Beats free concert series on Saturday, Sept. 24, 7 p.m. at Community Park, 3601 S. 14th Street, featuring Mars Hill, a high-energy pop band.

Thanks to a grant from Midlothian Community Development Corporation, the concert is free, but food will be available for purchase.

Mark your calendars for concerts on Oct. 8 and Nov. 5.

National Night Out Kick-Off Sept. 17

Midlothian Police Department will kick off the 2022 National Night Out campaign at an organizational event on Saturday, September 17 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Midlothian Community Park., 3601 S. 14th  Street. At the kick-off event, members of the community will learn how to organize a National Night Out event in their neighborhoods, which will take place across the country on the evening of Tuesday, October 4.

The kick-off includes activities like visits with first responders, an appearance by Captain America of Texas, bounce houses, emergency vehicles, emergency preparedness information, and free refreshments.
