Tree Lighting Ceremony, Thu., Dec. 1Join us as we usher in the holiday season with the lighting of the city's beautiful, new Christmas tree in Heritage Park, 234 N. 8th St., on Thurs., Dec. 1 at 6 p.m.
Mayor Richard Reno will read the Christmas story and Meagan, Maverick, and Riggins White will flip the switch to light the tree. Enjoy holiday music, refreshments, and an evening of community fellowship. In case of rain, the event will be postponed to Dec. 2.

Southern Star Fun, Dec. 3, 1-5 p.m.To be held on Sat., Dec. 3 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Heritage Park, 234 N. 8th St., Southern Star Christmas Celebration will include outdoor festivities, such as selfies with Santa, a Kids Zone, and an arts 'n' crafts market with merchandise and food vendors. Bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to Manna House. While you're downtown, be sure to visit the local shops and restaurants.

Light-Up Parade Dec. 3, 6 p.m.The theme for Midlothian's Annual Light-Up Parade is “Home for the Holidays.” To be held on Sat., Dec. 3 at 6 p.m., the parade will step off from the 8th Street Bridge, travel south to West Avenue F, and end at Overlook Drive. This year’s grand marshals are Jim Norris, retired assistant superintendent of Finance and Operations for MISD, who will be joined by his wife and several longtime community members and friends. In 2022, Norris was named MISD Leader of the Year and Midlothian Athletics Hall of Honor Supporter of the Year.

Holiday Concert, Dec. 4, 6:30 p.m.Featuring the Center 313 band, this free holiday concert will be held at the Midlothian Community Park, 3601 S. 14th Street, amphitheater on Sun., Dec. 4 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Bring chairs and blankets for lawn seating. The event is sponsored by First Class Productions.

Tree of Angels Ceremony, Dec. 6The Tree of Angels Dedication Ceremony provides a place for families and friends to grieve the loss of a loved one due to a violent crime or sudden death. The event will be held on Tues., Dec. 6, 7 p.m., at the Shepherd's House Church, 3221 Mockingbird Lane. Veterans Memorial Dedication, Dec. 7The Veterans Tribute Memorial Dedication Ceremony will be held on Wed., Dec. 7 at 5 p.m. at Midlothian Community Park, 3601 S. 14th St. All are invited to celebrate the completion of this beautiful memorial, located north of the soccer fields and next to the tennis courts, with parking adjacent. The ceremony will begin on time and will be brief. Dress warmly.
